Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) aims to remove atmospheric CO2 and store it safely underground on geologic timescales (thousands of years). While no substitute for curbing emissions, CDR is now considered by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change an essential ingredient for limiting global warming to 1.5 – 2 °C. Numerous approaches exist, although I am most interested in marine CDR as it harnesses natural processes in the ocean where the majority of our planet’s carbon is stored.
With my expertise in geochemistry, carbon burial, and ocean science and commitment to climate change solutions, I am excited to offer independent consulting services. My experience so far has focused on developing marine sub-sediment burial methodology in collaboration with Sinkco Labs and Rainbow. I also serve on the Scientific Advisory Board for ClimeFi, a leading portfolio manager for durable carbon credits, where I assist with due diligence of marine CDR projects. Please reach out to chat about your projects and/or research collaboration.
